Japanese chestnut trees (castanea)
The chestnut trees have a moderate growth rate. Japanese chestnut trees are around 10metres in height and close to the same as the Chinese chestnut tree; Japanese chestnut trees are multilayered and wide spreading whereas European and American chestnut trees grow at a very erect when planted among others. The chestnut trees bark is really smooth when it is in its younger stages they have a more so reddish brown color and the furrows tend to twist around the trunk as tree ages almost looks like a cable with twisted strands the Japanese chestnut trees leaves are simple at a length of at biggest 30cm long and 10cm wide sharply pointed just like the Japanese lie tree with a variant of widely spaced teeth with shallow rounded sinuates in between. |
Japanese oak tree (oak)
The Japanese oak tree the word oak is a tree or a shrub in the genus family. Oaks haves spirally shaped arranged leaves with something called lobate margins in many species some of the oak trees have serrated leaves or entire leaves with smooth margins many of the deciduous trees are marcescent what does marcescent mean? Meaning the Japanese oak tree doesn’t drop dead leaves until spring in the spring time a oak tree produces Both male and female flowers but female flowers are typically smaller. The fruit produced from the tree is type of nut called acorn as some of you may be familiar of. Shaped in a cup like structure known as a capule. Each acorn may only contain one seed but the odd 1 will have two or three but very rarely do you find one of those. These trees are typically found in the private and owned lands of the deciduous forest as they are one of the more uncommon trees. |
